Roy Zerner is an experienced supply chain professional with over 30 years of experience in supply chain management and planning.
As a consultant, Roy brings a unique blend of practitioner, consulting and academic experiences to his engagements. This combination of skills helps to ensure that the solutions he delivers are practicable, cost-effective and address the root cause of the problem.
Roy’s practitioner experience includes serving in supply chain leadership roles with Del Monte Foods, H.J. Heinz, and Mars Inc. In addition, he was a senior member of the Supply Chain Consulting practices of Accenture, Ernst & Young (now Capgemini) and Arthur Andersen.
His selected accomplishments include:
- Re-engineered the supply chain operations of twelve companies. Identified / implemented improvements in warehousing, transportation, demand / supply planning, inventory management, procurement, order fulfillment, reverse logistics and network design that generated $593M in annual savings.
- Expert in using process improvement, tool enhancement and organizational development to improve forecast accuracy, reduce inventory levels and enhance customer service. Reduced inventory levels by $63M (17%) while improving customer service with two different Fortune 500 employers. Served as demand or supply planning “expert” on 30 consulting engagements.
- Helped 55 organizations save $1.3B annually on their supply chain operations.
Roy has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA in Marketing from the Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. In addition, he has completed a majority of the degree requirements for a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the UCLA – Anderson School of Management.
